Dear Parents,
As we reach the end of the First Term, our children will now appear for the First Summative Assessment  of this academic year.
Please note the following guidelines to assist your children:
1.     Keep the atmosphere at home stress free. A planned approach to the exams will keep it so.
2.     Make sure children get a good night’s sleep and have a healthy breakfast.
3.     Ensure children have some free time during the day to rejuvenate themselves.
4.     Prepare a revision time table based on the subjects and portion given.
5.      Please do not ask children to memorise the answers. Marks will be awarded for answers which are in the child’s own words, if accurate.
6.     Ensure your children carry enough and appropriate stationery as required (pens/pencils erasers, sharpener, geometry box etc.)
7.     Students  of Grade V will answer the questions in a separate supplement given by the school.
8.     Revision will be done from 7/10/14 to10/10/14 during the normal school hours.

HINDI DIWAS Celelbrations

Hindi is the official language in India. 40% of the population speak the language. In an endeavour to create awareness and showcase the  talent of the students of Grades I – X who have opted for Hindi as their II Language, Orchids  - The International School celebrated ‘Hindi Diwas’ on 12-9-14.
The programme began with a welcome dance by the students of the senior classes.  It was followed by a rendition of a song in which the importance of Hindi as a language was expressed.  The numbers 1-10 were creatively displayed by the junior students through a dance. There was a unique PowerPoint presentation highlighting the significance and relevance of the language.  The event was concluded with a hilarious skit that was presented by the students of Grades IX and X. The audience enjoyed the programme thoroughly.  Our Principal, Mr.C. Srikanth, appreciated the efforts of the teachers – Mrs Swati Saxena, Mrs Ratna Devi and Mr Shyam Kumar in making the programme successful.

Pet day Celebrations

Orchids- The International School celebrated ‘Pet Day’ on 13/09/14 i.e., on Saturday. Two dogs Simba and Alex were brought by the parents. Children enjoyed the action of both the dogs. The tiny Pomeranian Simba was two and a half years old and weighted only two and half kilos. The huge three month old Alex weighted 22 kilos. Chicken is the favorite food of both the dogs. Alex was of black and white colours and Simba was of light brown colour. The children enjoyed the sight of both the dogs baring at each other and they patted both the dogs.

We appreciate and thank the parents for their co-operation.
